My 1 Month Old Baby!

Miss Jaycie turned one month old today! She is getting bigger and bigger everyday and trying to smile as well! It has been so fun seeing her grow and stay awake longer and longer even if lately it has been from 4:30 am and 6:30 am. She is a great baby girl and we wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. I can't wait till she is old enough to follow Mackenzie around like Parker did with Sterling. But for now I just want to savor every little moment with my little quite, non talking back, sweet baby girl.

How much air does it take to fill up the pool?

In our amazing thoughts as parents we decided it would be a great idea to bring the kids blow up pool to Great Grandma's house for something fun and cool to do. Well after opening the never used pool we discovered that it was huge and we had not brought the air pump. After about an hour of blowing the bottom half of the 8 ft x 5 ft pool was finally blown up. Just as Landon started on the top Grandma decided to call Grandpa and see if he had an air pump. Five minutes later she brought in a Craftsman air compressor and we blew the rest of the pool up in a little under three minutes. Poor daddy! We have now learned to call Grandpa for tools before doing anything but those kids sure did have fun swimming every afternoon!

Fruits, Nuts, and Great Grandparents!

Landon and I decided to pack up the kids and all the junk stuff they require and head to Redding California to visit the great grandparents and the rest of the Sharrett family living there... and believe me there is a lot of them! After a 12 hour drive which was surprisingly relaxing and had no melt downs which was amazing because Jaycie can not even ride to Walmart without screaming all the way but God took pity on us and put her to sleep for the entire car ride. We have discovered Redbox movies for the kids in the car because they are new, costa dollar, and can be returned anywhere! Talk about amazing! Poor Miss Mac was not excited that her brothers were in the back and therefore so was the movie. At one point after leaving a Mcy D's for breakfast and forgetting to buckle in Mac we found her standing in her car seat trying to steal the DVD player. Mind you it was 10 feet out of the parking lot so don't go calling CPS on us just yet wait for the rest of the blog post!

The kids had so much fun seeing all their grandparents and believe me there is about three sets there so to say the least it can be confusing for them. At one point we told Parker to give his bowl to Great Grandma Linda to put in the sink and he proceeded to give it to Great Great Grandma Burwell! She was definitely confused as to why this little child was giving her an empty bowl!

And of course there was the tradition baby bath by Great Grandma Linda. A baby cannot leave that house without a bath from grandma. She likes babies clean and smelling good!

It was a great trip all around and the kids had so much fun with Landon's cousins who were there while we were visiting. Lucas who is around 12 i believe was the kids play toy for the first two days we were there. Mackenzie followed him around and insisted on sitting on his lap all day long. He was a great sport and had probably just as much fun as my little ones did.

Now here is the part that you have been waiting on.. About 50 feet from the car on the way home about to get lunch we realized we only had three kids with us and that the baby was still asleep in the car. So no if children falling out of shopping carts, windows, and standing in their car seat hasn't made you think of calling CPS this might just push you over the edge.... Maybe just maybe but we doubt it!

Sisters! Sisters! There were never such devoted sisters!

Miss Mackenie is loving all over her sister everyday more and more. It reminds me of the song "Sister" from White Christmas my all time favorite movie (just ask my husband who has now seen it way too many times in only five years of marriage). Although now Mackenzie will not let Jaycie out of her site and will not let her be held by anyone unless she is in momma's arms with a watchful eye right next to the person I realize that one day they will be fighting over their brothers friends. Which only scares me more and more to think of my girls chasing after boys let alone thier crazy brothers friends. But for now it is only sweet kisses and over protectiveness which I can gladly say I am thankful for. But I'm sure that one day in the not so far away future their slogan will be "Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister, and Lord help the sister who comes between me and my man". All I can hope for is two singing men who will dress up in teal lacy and sing a song while the girls run from the police and help an old retired friend!
